Coffee & Ink

These begin by accident — or close to it. A coffee spill, a cup ring, a splash left to dry on the paper. The stain sets the shape and the warm brown tone.

Then Roger looks for what is already hiding in it and draws over the stain in ink: a pond, a hillside farm, a honeybee. No two stains are alike, so no two pieces could ever be.
